Africa tax conference to consider BEPS reforms

The Africa Tax Symposium will take place in Entebbe, Uganda, from 4-6 May, it has been announced.

An initiative of International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation’s (IBFD) Centre for Studies in African Taxation, the annual event attracts tax professionals from all over the continent to analyse issues and probe their relevance to Africa.

This year’s event will include discussion of the post-BEPS landscape, aggressive tax planning, transfer pricing and the challenges impact particular industries and transaction.

Confirmed speakers include Annet Wanyana Oguttu, professor of tax law at the University of South Africa, Michael Lennard, international tax cooperation and trade chief in the United Nation’s Financing for Development office, and Charles Makola, international tax partner and tax policy lead at EY.
