Thomas Mueller-Marqués Berger, Ernst & Young’s global leader for international public sector accounting, discusses the need for public sector accounting standards and tells Public Finance International why there is a need to move to accrual-based accounting. 

He spoke during a CIPFA/EY conference in Brussels on the recent Eurostat report into International Public Sector Accounting Standards implementation across the European Union.
