CIPFA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bangladesh’s Financial Management Academy (FIMA) in a move that will help improve government auditing in the country and public financial management more generally.
The MOU is a long-term collaboration and will ensure that FIMA instructors are able to pass on sustainable and high-quality training in PFM to members of the Bangladesh’s Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General and other government agencies.
Alan Edwards, international director at CIPFA, said: ‘Professional public financial management is fundamental to the delivery of good quality public services, value for money and good governance. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with FIMA and others in Bangladesh.’
The collaboration is part of CIPFA’s work under its Strengthening Public Expenditure Management Programme.
